Papug Linux
Papug Linux is a minimal LiveCD Linux distribution based on Gentoo. It was designed to provide a small yet functional free operating system that could run on a wide range of hardware—from older machines with as little as 128 MB of RAM to more modern, powerful systems. With a focus on efficiency and portability, Papug Linux offered a lightweight environment suitable for both everyday use and system recovery tasks.
Despite its modest size, Papug Linux aimed to deliver a usable system with essential tools while maintaining flexibility and performance. The project remained relatively niche within the Linux community, and its last official release, version 11.1a, was published in July 2011. Like many small distributions, it highlights the versatility of Linux and the ability to tailor systems for specific performance and hardware needs.
