Danix

Danix is Debian-based live linux distribution, originally developed in the Czech Republic with a focus on usability for everyday desktop users. It was designed as a modular Live system that could boot from CD, DVD, or USB, autodetect common hardware, and be installed to a hard drive if desired. Danix came with a wide range of applications for internet use, office work, data recovery, education, and entertainment, and featured the KDE desktop environment by default.

One of Danix’s unique features was its module‑based setup: when booting from removable media, users could store changes in a storage module so that settings and additional software persisted across reboots, making the live system behave much like a standard installed OS. Older versions of Danix included only Czech language, but Danix 2006 and newer has multilanguage support. The last known version(Evolution 2) is from August 2007.
